ABOUT THE PROJECT
Practical Resources for Inclusive Education Through Improvisation
The Performing Bridges Toolkit is one of the core outcomes of the Erasmus+ project Performing Bridges: Improvisation for Inclusive Education and Social Change. It brings together practical methods, exercises and educational approaches developed throughout the project to support inclusive, creative and participatory learning.
The Toolkit is designed as a freely accessible resource that helps educators and facilitators introduce improvisation into their everyday practice.
What’s Inside?
The Toolkit combines practical activities with educational methodology, offering ready-to-use resources that can be adapted to different learning environments.
It includes:
practical improvisation exercises;
facilitation techniques;
group-building activities;
reflection methods;
guidance for creating psychologically safe learning spaces;
recommendations for inclusive educational practice.
The activities are suitable for both formal and non-formal education and can be adapted for participants with different levels of experience.
Who Is It For?
The Toolkit is intended for professionals working in education, culture and community development, including:
adult educators;
teachers and trainers;
youth workers;
psychologists and social workers;
artists working in educational contexts;
facilitators supporting migrants, refugees and diverse communities.
No previous experience in improvisation is required.
A Practical Resource
Rather than presenting a fixed teaching method, the Toolkit offers flexible exercises and approaches that can be adapted to different groups, educational settings and cultural contexts.
It encourages learning through participation, collaboration and creative exploration, making improvisation accessible to educators regardless of their professional background.
Part of the Performing Bridges Project
The Toolkit complements the Training Programme and the Total Improv Festival, transforming the project’s educational experience into a freely available resource that can continue to be used long after the project has ended.
Together, these three components create a sustainable framework for promoting inclusive education through improvisation across Europe.
